Austin live music venues are not known for offering exceptional down home cooking and killer BBQ with their music.

It's hard to determine which is better, Artz award winning ribs or the eclectic mix of top quality local bluegrass and country music.

Artists like Danny Santos, Old Time Texas Fiddle Jam, Studebakers, Swing Kings and others are offered seven nights a week.

Art Blondin and Zee Sutton own Artz. They are friends of mine just like I'm sure all their regular customers are. If you get a chance, ask Zee about her snow globe collection. Artz is that kind of place.

There is no stage. You sit with the artists. The audience and artist connect in this Austin live music venue like few others.

Artz Rib House is a leading player in the bluegrass scene and one of the best times during SXSW music festival. They have special free showcases where about a half a dozen performers play over the course of the evening.

The motto… BEST RACKS IN TOWN. They should have another slogan, BEST OF ALL BLUEGRASS AUSTIN LIVE MUSIC VENUES.

Want to have a rollicking good time? Catch the Studebakers and order a rack for good measure. Have a piece of pecan pie with the encore. Lean over and give the lead singer a bite! Artz is an all out must for any serious bluegrass lover. Recommended.

Word of warning, this place can get real crowded, real fast.
