Austin, in the far eastern corner of the Hill Country, is called the Gateway to the Hill Country. Austin is the state capital and largest city in the Hill Country. You'll find many small, friendly rural and lake towns like Fredericksburg, Marble Falls, Kerrville, Brady, San Saba, Lampasas, Bandera, Burnet and Llano. Follow the signs in any of these town, they all lead to Austin.
