The Driskill Grill Best of Downtown Austin Restaurants

One of the best downtown Austin restaurants.
ZAGAT rates the Driskill Grill at the top of the Austin Restaurants list. For good reason. When it's right and not rushed, it's as close to culinary perfection as you can get. The Driskill is arguably the most expensive restaurant in Austin with a $100 per person ticket the norm, not the exception. The restaurant itself is Hollywood romance. It really is a step back in time with Tiffany lamps and copper ceilings. The menu is ever changing. It offers a "farm to table" three course menu that features local, organic and natural foods. Lobster Polenta, Lobster Bisque, Prime Dry Aged Filet Mignon,Dijon Crusted Colorado Lamb Chops, Chocolate Raspberry Gateau. One of the fresh menu items, Seared Ahi Tuna. The food atmosphere and overall experience at the Driskill is unparalleled in the city of Austin when not under siege. I recommend dining in off hours. Ask for a non-peak time reservation and bring your first born child for payment. Service can be slow when busy. And as my husband says, "the wine ain't cheap." Be sure to check my Driskill Hotel review if you've never stayed at this historic hotel. It's a great hotel and who knows, you may discover your own ghost story! 604 Brazos St. Austin, TX 78701 (512) 391-7162 www.driskillgrill.comHours: 5:30 pm to 10 pm, Tuesday - Saturday.
