Renovated lobby at the Drury Inn & Suites.
An older hotel, I have not visited it since its renovation. However, you can expect the familiar Drury experience. Kids, kids and more kids. Not a bad thing unless you're on a romantic holiday, honeymoon or business trip. Then I recommend you find other lodging. Free hot breakfast includes eggs, biscuits and gravy, waffles, juice and more. Wireless Internet access in all rooms and local telephone calls are free. There is a 24 hour business center, free and abundant parking, exercise room, extended stay suites, dataports, and premium cable TV.
The pool at Drury Inn is nice and comfortable.
When I stayed here in 2005 for a three day business conference, I was quite comfortable. This is a Drury Inn, not a luxury hotel. The room I stayed in was a little stale smelling with some unique stains (purple) on the carpet. Service was a tad laid back, but friendly and courteous. I enjoyed the outdoor pool even though kids were running around without parental supervision. Given this hotel is what it is I think they do a good job overall. However, I would recommend they increase staff. Food is surprisingly good. Ask for a room not facing IH-35 to avoid noise issues. You get quite a lot for just a little money at this Austin hotel.
