The Embassy Suites downtown location is within a nice stroll from Lady Bird Lake, Ann Richards Congress Avenue Bridge (bat bridge), the Warehouse District, SoCo and the Sixth Street, Red River Entertainment District. Great eateries abound.

This is an all suite hotel. Nine floors and a full atrium with waterfall. Two hundred sixty-two suites. Including seven smoking suites. Wet bar, coffee maker, refrigerator and microwave. Two TVs and high speed Internet access in all suites.

Complimentary cooked to order breakfast, indoor pool, fitness center.

I stayed at this hotel during two SXSW Film and Music Festivals.

The King Suite lives up to its name.

Because the rooms are suites, it was like coming home after a long soggy night of music and reveling.

The staff is friendly but not overly so. It's not forced. Service could be quicker, but very acceptable over all.

I never eat in hotel restaurants. But after a hard night of partying, I found the Embassy's breakfast surprisingly good. Not grandma quality, but much better than I expected.

Many Austin downtown hotels increase rates during major events and festivals. This hotel delivers good value even at the prime in season event rate.

I found this downtown Austin hotel quite comfortable and clean.

I have no complaints, only minor quibbles. Pets are accepted, but there is no lawn to exercise or do their business.

The atrium in the hotel is a nice touch. It gives a feeling of space.

The rooms are comfortable but not as light, airy or bright as I like. Again, I'm being really picky here.

The Embassy Suites Austin isn't Hotel San Jose, Four Seasons or even the Austin Motel.

Embassy Suites Austin does its thing and does it extremely well. I've referred this hotel to many friends and got great feedback.

So I will tell you what I tell them. If you understand that the Embassy Suites Austin is a limited service hotel and expect only that, you will be rewarded with exceeded expectations.
