Texas golf courses come in all sizes, shapes and designs. No other golf resort offers a multi-million dollar, 18 hole, par 72 putting course complete with water hazards, bunkers, fairways and absolutely killer greens.

Whitewater is a fully landscaped course boasting waterfalls with live flamingos. The course is also lit for evening use and the Dwarf Bermuda grass is flawless.

This is not a practice course or putting green. Even though every shot is made with a putter. My husband has played the game since age nine, been to many PGA courses across America and RD says, he's never seen anything like Whitewater.

Imagine God designed his own miniature golf course with all the resources at his disposal and the result would be Whitewater Putting Course.

Absolutely gorgeous. Each hole is similar because you're using your putter for every shot. Yet there is genuine variety from each hole to the next. The immaculate condition of the greens and fairways lends itself to a fast playing surface.

Gently rolling, flat, undulation, well placed bunkers, water is more for visual appeal than a hazard.

Horseshoe Bay Resort has outdone themselves. A real golf course on a small scale. The result is everyone who plays Whitewater will improve their short game.

I played 36 holes at Whitewater over two days with an instructor and my improvement was measurable.

This type of short course is a much better training facility than any putting or chipping green ever made.You play the course with a putter. You have to think to do well at Whitewater.

If you think you're a short game dead eye, Whitewater is a place to test your short game.

Unfortunately, Whitewater like all Horseshoe Bay golf courses are members only or guests of the resort.

As golf resorts go I think Horseshoe Bay Resort is priced fairly. It's expensive by any standard. But the golf is as good as it gets.

LOCATED: From downtown Austin, about 45 – 50 miles northwest.

Take Hwy. 71 West for about 40 – 45 miles. You'll cross over Hwy. 281, go another 6 or 7 miles and turn right (north) on FM 2147. The course is next to the resort on your left.

FEES: $10 – 16. You must be a member or guest of the resort to play this course.
