What I stayed in when I was young and couldn't afford the upscale and fancy Ramadas and Holiday Inns. Well, it's no different today. You can remodel these things. Add bells and whistles, amenities and even improve service. What you end up with is a remodeled budget hotel. I find this La Quinta no different than the other La Quintas that spot the Austin map.
Spacious room at La Quinta Inn Austin. There are 142 rooms with 13 suites recently remodeled and better than the average budget hotel. Rooms are large. Location is convenient as is parking, Internet access is free, heated pool and a 24 hour fitness center. La Quinta also offers a free continental breakfast. Pets are welcome and the airport shuttle operates from 4 am to 12:30 am daily. This is a cheap hotel. If you can get into its weirdness and overlook foibles, you can save money. Here's the rule of thumb I use — if I can get the room super cheap, I can put up with a lot. I will pamper myself with my savings when the appropriate travel opportunity arrives. LOCATION: La Quinta Inn Austin Airport is two miles west of Austin Bergstrom International Airport. About six miles from downtown Austin. Out of the airport take Hwy. 71 West two miles. Hotel is on the left at the intersection of Hwy. 71 and Riverside Rd. HOTEL FACILITIES: La Quinta Inn Austin Airport has five floors, 142 rooms and 13 suites.
