Maggie Mae's has been a host venue for SXSW the last 17 years for good reason. A mainstay of the Austin music scene, this Austin club offers three different stages.

The courtyard is nice but the talent is real hit or miss. The roof top deck stage draws better talent. The roof top boasts a view of the Austin skyline and 4,500 sq. ft. of space plus two bars.

Maggie Mae's Pub is known for featuring local up-and-coming bands.

Maggie Mae's is one of the grand ol' ladies of Austin clubs. She's paid her dues and deserves her rep.

Even though Maggie Mae's is not known for booking top talent on a consistent basis, no one can argue with Maggie Mae's formula for success.

Friendly staff, good drinks, always a party going on. Location on Sixth Street is one of, if not the most convenient, Austin club location in the city. Maggie Mae's sits virtually in the middle of the Austin music scene.

An important player during SXSW and their schedule should be checked out by everyone interested in live music in Austin.

Live music in Austin is always a good experience at Maggie Mae's if you don't mind challenging bar crawls and crowds. The upstairs is a special Austin music scene experience I recommend at dusk. Beautiful.
