When this hotel was originally built, it was in the country. IH-35 was a single overpass and traffic out in the sticks was light. Not so today. The Omni is a survivor of massive construction in the area. Today it's a shinning jewel of all the south Austin hotels.

If this hotel had a downtown location it would rank at the very top of Austin hotels. Right in the group behind the Four Seasons.

• Deluxe Rooms – 268 sq. ft., one king or two double beds.
• Superior Rooms – same as above with balcony (not worth it, more noise).
• Junior Suites – bedroom and sitting area.
• Parlor Suite – I recommend this spacious and comfortable two room combo.
• Governor's Suite – 516 sq. ft. of sleeping, living and dining comfort.
• Presidential Suite – Wow! 785 sq. ft. of really over doing it. Nice if a mere mortal like myself could afford it.

All rooms come with all the very best amenities. Fully stocked refreshment center, high speed Internet access, cable TV, web TV, dual line phones with dataport, coffeemaker and more. They provide everything but a Brad Pitt look-a-like.

Fitness center, business center, full service restaurant (good, but expensive). Drop dead huge indoor-outdoor pool. Free outdoor parking. Ten minutes from airport.

After all that, you can expect one of the most professional, prompt and efficient hotel staff in the city.

Airport shuttle runs from 7 am to 10 pm. You must make a phone request (512) 444-2222 for pick-up from airport.
