Two locations, the original up north and the new location which sits in the shadow of the old Armadillo World Headquarters.

Both establishments were and are owned and operated by Austin music legend and super entrepreneur, Eddie Wilson.

Although this is a restaurant, I'm only reviewing the music venue here. I will review the new location (south) because volumes have been written about the original location (north) and how Janis Joplin got her start there.

The south location is a genuine Austin live music dynamo. Great sound, ample and convenient parking. Reasonable prices all around.

The place is large and comfortable. A perfect place to catch Bob Schneider, Jimmy LaFave, James Hand, Cornell Hurd, Teddy Roddy, Butch Hancock or the South Austin Jug Band.

I saw Savoy Brown here. I eat and enjoy music here a couple times a month.

Stand in the parking lot and you can see where the Armadillo World Headquarters once stood. Now a bank invades that piece of hallowed Austin live music ground.

A great place to watch great local talent.

They also offer a gospel brunch. I recommend it. The music is excellent and so is the down home southern cooking.

Eddie, you've been responsible for a lot of joy in this ol' gals life, so I want to take this opportunity to say, THANKS FOR THE MEMORIES!!
